Pulse

The Ice Palace, Downtown

PULSE provides a unique platform for diverse galleries to present a progressive blend of renowned and pioneering contemporary artists, alongside an evolving series of original programming. This year’s fair is home to eighty six national and international galleries. Contributing to PULSE’s success since its earliest days, and returning again to PULSE Miami 2013 are: Galerie Anita Beckers (Frankfurt), Davidson Contemporary (New York), FRED [LONDON] LIMITED (London), Freight + Volume (New York), Mixed Greens (New York), Yancey Richardson Gallery (New York), Galerie Stefan Roepke (Cologne), Galeria SENDA (Barcelona), Shoshana Wayne Gallery (Santa Monica), taubert contemporary (Berlin), and Von Lintel Gallery (New York).

Pulse Projects
PULSE Art Fair’s signature Pulse Projects program is committed to the presentation and promotion of audience-engaging large-scale sculptures, installations and performances. Pulse Projects is part of our continued mission to link an international roster of premier contemporary galleries and artists with local cultural institutions, communities and audiences. Among the artists whose sculptures and installations have been presented in the past are Ben Wolf, Desi Santiago, Orly Genger, Christy Gast, Shannon Gillen & Guests, Leo Villareal, R. Luke DuBois, Paul Villinksi, and Clifton Childree.

Pulse Play
Pulse Play, a section of PULSE Projects, is a curated video and technology installation presenting work by both emerging and established artists.

Pulse Prize
The Pulse Prize is a $2,500 cash grant that is awarded to an emerging artist of distinction featured in the IMPULSE section of the fair. For the selection of the 2013 PULSE Prize for outstanding artist exhibiting in the IMPULSE section of the fair, PULSE welcomes guest jurors Isolde Brielmaier, Professor, NYU Tisch School of the Arts and Independent Curator; Andrew Goldstein, Executive Editor, Artspace; Trevor Smith, Curator of Contemporary Art, Peabody Essex Museum; and Anne Tschida, freelance journalist, Miami Herald. They will join the Gallery Selection Committee: Nerea Fernandez, Michael Sturm, Rebecca Hicks, and Thomas Von Lintel in awarding the PULSE prize. The recipient will be announced on Friday, December 6, 2013. Last year’s prize recipient, Nadine Wottke, has designed this year’s limited edition PULSE Miami tote bags.
