American artist Kiki Smith (Nuremberg, 1954) is putting on a major solo show at Palazzo Pitti, Florence. The exhibition is supported by Galleria Continua.
Kiki Smith combines traditional techniques with the most sophisticated digital technology, and her themes draw on visual sources from the Christian Middle Ages, from the seventeenth-eighteenth century science and certainly surrealism, with results representing obsession and contradictions of today’s humanity.
