Famed for its exceptional creations and virtuoso craftsmanship, the Maison presents this year In Praise of Hands, an exhibition on the art of High Jewelry that pays homage to the expert hands of master craftsmen: the Mains d’Or™. Inspired from the book by Franco Cologni In Praise of Hands, Van Cleef & Arpels pays tribute to the artistry that goes into creating a piece of High Jewelry by explaining each of the distinct skills with evocative black and white photographs by Francesco Cito.

This exhibition celebrates the legendary skilled hands who dedicate countless hours of meticulous work and devote their ancestral expertise to transform objects into meaningful precious jewels. It also unveils the finer points of Mystery Setting™, one of the Maison’s emblematic techniques.
The crafts portrayed at the exhibition are accompanied by spectacular unique High Jewelry creations reflecting Van Cleef & Arpels innovative craftsmanship, creativity and excellence. The beauty lovers and admirers of perfection are invited to embark on a fascinating journey in the mysterious and enchanting world of High Jewelry, and celebrate the act of creation with Maison Van Cleef & Arpels.

Workshop L’ECOLE Van Cleef & Arpels

During In Praise of Hands exhibition at Design Days Dubai, Maison Van Cleef & Arpelshosts a workshop by L’ECOLE Van Cleef & Arpels shedding light on the Mock-up design craft.
Using various sources of inspiration, the instructor, an expert in jewelry design, will guide the participants through the three stages which allow a jewel to be represented in two dimensions: the sketch, the tracing and the gouache. They will then create a pewter mock-up, the first three-dimensional interpretation of the jewel.

The workshop can welcome 4 guests at a time and lasts 30min.
