Frieze New York 2014

Frieze New York 2014 showcases art by over 1,000 of the world’s leading artists, bringing together 190 of the world’s most important contemporary art galleries. Frieze New York is located in the unique settings of Randall’s Island Park, Manhattan.

The programme will also feature a special tribute to Allen Ruppersberg’s Al’s Grand Hotel, originally realised in 1971 at 7175 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles and presented at Frieze New York in collaboration with Public Fiction.

Frieze Talks is a daily programme of keynote lectures, panel debates and discussions. Frieze Talks 2014 is curated by Tom Eccles (Executive Director, Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College, NewYork) and Christy Lange (Associate Editor, frieze, Berlin).

Frieze Sounds is a programme of sound works featuring three specially commissioned audio works by international artists.

Frieze Sounds 2014 will be premiered in the VIP cars at Frieze New York. Sounds will also be accessible via a listening station inside the fair and streamed online.

Frieze Sounds 2014 is programmed and curated by Cecilia Alemani and includes works by Keren Cytter, Cally Spooner and Hannah Weinberger.

Moreover, Frieze New York Education programme allows public school classes and museum groups to further explore the fair, aiming to encourage a collaborative working process and create an awareness of current practice in the contemporary art world.
