El Anatsui: Theory of Se

The exhibition presents newly created works by the internationally renowned Ghanaian artist: El Anatsui. He creates large-scale metal sculptures by transforming discarded materials such as liquor bottle tops into a light-weighted, overwhelming wall hanging installation. His work touches upon colonialism and consumerism. It is environmentally conscious, and constantly challenges conventional notions between sculpture and painting.
